Lutein is a kind of carotenoid, and has a bright yellow or orange color. It is found in high quantities in green leafy vegetables such as kale and spinach. Lutein is rich in the lens of the eyes and retina, and it is an important pigment in macular area. Lutein has a strong anti-oxidation ability and it can prevent the age-related macular degeneration (AMD), cataract and other eye diseases.
The incidence of myopia in Asian countries is 70%-90% and the incidence of cataract and glaucoma for these people is much higher than normal people. Macular degeneration is the key reason causing blindness for old people.
Seal oil and grape seeds can efficiently prevent the oxidation of macular area. The vegetable & fruit and oyster shell extract can provide vitamin A which will prevent night blindness.
Lutein will promote the regeneration of rhodopsin and improve vision. Lutein can also protect eyes from the attack by free radicals, filter out the blue light which can easily produce free radicals, and prevent the aging and mutations because of the oxidation.
Lutein is the key pigment in macular area and it helps the generation of vision. If human body does not have enough lutein, there will be a high probability to get blindness.
